Chiefland, Fla. — Today, Chad Johnson, candidate for House District 22, announced that Rep. Stan McClain endorsed his campaign for State Representative. Johnson is running to succeed Rep. Chuck Clemons, who is term-limited and has also endorsed the sixth-generation Floridian's bid for the seat.
"Chad will be a conservative champion that is willing to fight taxes, regulation, and over-spending," said Rep. Stan McClain. "His active and longtime involvement in the community makes him the perfect candidate to lead and represent the best interests of Gilchrist, Levy, and Alachua counties. It is my pleasure to join Speaker Pro Tem Chuck Clemons and Chairman Bobby Payne in endorsing Chad Johnson for state representative."
Rep. Stan McClain was elected to the Florida House in 2016 and has been a champion for economic freedom and better education. For the 2022-2024 legislative term, he is serving as Chair of the Ways & Means Committee, where he presides over discussions concerning all state and local taxes. Additionally, Rep. McClain is a residential building contractor and former Marion County Commissioner.
"I am grateful for Rep. Stan McClain's support in this race," said candidate Chad Johnson. "For several years, he has been an incredible leader in the Florida Legislature and a relentless advocate for traditional values and conservatism. That is something I hope to emulate as I follow in his footsteps in the state house."
Chad was born and raised in Alachua County, with family in Gilchrist and Marion counties. He is a University of Florida graduate with a degree in Food and Resource Economics. Chad and his wife Angela reside in Levy County and have four children. He is a tried-and-true community leader, formerly serving as a Levy County Commissioner, president of the Levy County Farm Bureau and the Florida Association of Auctioneers. Chad has been endorsed by Speaker pro tempore of the Florida House of Representatives Chuck Clemons and Gilchrist County Sheriff Bobby Schultz.
