Chiefland, Fla. — Today, Chad Johnson, candidate for House District 22, announced the endorsement of Rep. Bobby Payne, a Palatka Republican and Chair of the House Infrastructure Strategies Committee. Rep. Payne has represented District 20 in the Florida House since 2016 and is known as a principled conservative and commonsense leader.
“I join Speaker Pro Tem Chuck Clemons in endorsing Chad Johnson to represent House District 22,” said Chair Bobby Payne. “His deep roots in our rural communities will give him unique insight into the everyday challenges facing the citizens of North Florida. Chad is a fiscal conservative who has the experience and wisdom to make a difference in the state legislature.”
In office, Chair Payne has been a strong advocate for rural Floridians, spearheading legislation that protects and prioritizes the Sunshine States’ smaller communities.
“It is a great honor to have Chair Bobby Payne’s endorsement,” said candidate Chad Johnson. “I appreciate his vote of confidence in my leadership and have long admired his commitment to job creation and smart growth while also protecting the quality of life for our rural communities.”
Chad was born and raised in Alachua County, with family in Gilchrist and Marion counties. He is a University of Florida graduate with a degree in Food and Resource Economics. Chad and his wife Angela reside in Levy County and have four children. He is a tried-and-true community leader, formerly serving as a Levy County Commissioner, president of the Levy County Farm Bureau and the Florida Association of Auctioneers. Chad has been endorsed by Speaker pro tempore of the Florida House of Representatives Chuck Clemons and Gilchrist County Sheriff Bobby Schultz.
